Faithful readers know of my love of Zune, and my heart skipped a beat when I got word of the latest device! I love my old-school style (and I was a fan of Brown), but look what Zune has wrought along with the new device, coming September 16th:
Buy from FM. Listen to your favorite FM radio stations and click to tag the songs you like for later purchase when you sync your device with your PC.
Device to Cloud. Access thousands of wireless hotspots around the country to automatically update your collection, browse Zune Marketplace, refresh Channels, exchange favorites with friends, or buy songs you’ve tagged from your FM radio.
Channels. Zune® Channels are custom programming stations that deliver personalized playlists to your Zune® from a variety of sources you select, such as music experts, celebrities, or top radio stations.
Games. Games rock on your Zune®. Zune® Players now come with a selection of fun free games to choose from. Play the popular poker game Texas Hold’em or challenge yourself to a game of Hexic, and make sure you play your favorite song from your collection to create your own personal game soundtrack.
Audio Books. All Zune devices will feature support for audio books this fall from industry leaders in the digital distribution of audio book content
– Audible: Customers can visit audible.com to download and sync favorite books from the 50,000 titles available from over 600 publishers and content providers
– OverDrive: They can download content from sites powered by overdrive.com, including 7,500 libraries’ Web sites worldwide. (http://search.overdrive.com)
And now, they lower the price of the Xbox 360 to less than $200!!! I’ve been waiting for this, so that I can put a 2nd machine in the kid’s play area. Not only can I relax without fear of my beautiful HDTV getting itty bitty kiddy fingerprints, but now I can play Call of Duty 4 without 6yr old Zachary wondering why daddy’s gutting people in high-def.
With a birthday and Christmas coming up, my list is already complete 🙂
