This is a basic recipe for making Italian bread that is great for everyday meals. Served warm, it is a perfect addition to a main dish. I’ve also used it for sandwiches and even just to pull apart and spread with butter.

I love my bread machine and have no shame in using it to save time making my dough. If you're a purist, mix the dry ingredients together and then add the water and oil. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.

Place in a clean bowl that has been lightly greased and cover with plastic wrap and a cloth towel for 30-40 minutes. Remove and continue with Baking Preparation.
